Thanksgiving
I have loved reading everyone's posts on Facebook about all the things they are thankful for. I was thinking that I should start doing that, too, but then I realized that I only had a few days left. So, I thought that maybe I would just take a few minutes and try to write about some of the things I have been thankful for this year.
First, I am thankful for my family. I have been blessed to have been born into a wonderful family with great parents and siblings. I am so grateful for the examples they have all set for me. I am especially grateful for the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ that my parents taught me and for our eternal family. I love that my parents were willing to live the principles of the gospel and be examples to me of how I want to and should live my own life.
I am also incredibly grateful for my amazing husband and children. I love them and am so grateful for all they do for me and teach me. I am forever grateful for the blessings of the temple and that our family will be together forever. I am thankful for a husband who understands me, listens to me, and is willing to help me and support me in everything I do. I am grateful for my two beautiful children and their individual personalities and the challenges, joys and experiences they bless my life with on a daily basis. Some days I wonder if I can be the mother they need me to be, but I try to remember that I wouldn't have the privilege of being their mother if Heavenly Father didn't believe I could do it.
Second, I am grateful for my testimony and membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My testimony helps me to get through the tough times because I know that my Savior will always be there for me. I am grateful for the friendships that I have been able to develop through the church and the support and love I feel from them. I am thankful for my calling as a teacher in the Relief Society and the opportunity I have to learn and share what I learn with others. I am thankful for the plan of salvation and the blessings of the Atonement. I love knowing that when I make a mistake that I can repent and continually strive to become a better person.
Third, I am thankful for Daddy's job. I know I complain about it a lot more than I should, but I am so grateful for all the blessings we have received from it.
(Okay, I'm going to stop numbering because I think it will just get too crazy! :)
I am thankful for:
Our vehicles
Our home
Computers, without which I couldn't do much ;)
My job as a mother
My job as a wife
Our health
My job as a PC Consultant
Living close to family
Our clothes
Well, the list could go on and on. I truly am grateful for everything that the Lord has blessed me with throughout my life. My life hasn't been perfect, but it has been a wonderful life so far. And, I have no doubts that despite what may come in the future, that my life will continue to be wonderful.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We love and miss you all and are very grateful to have you in our lives!
