Missing Daddy

Well, as most of you know, Daddy is in Pennsylvania for work. He left early Tuesday morning, and we have no idea when he will be home. Hopefully, he'll be home by the end of the week. We are planning to take the kids to the State Fair of Texas up in Dallas on Saturday, and I really don't want to take them by myself. This weekend is the only weekend we'll be able to go. Besides that, we have been missing him terribly.
Teeny has really started to miss Daddy quite a bit. Every once in awhile she will just start crying and say, "I'm crying because I want my daddy!" This morning while we were eating breakfast she said, "We can't go to church without Daddy!." When I told her that we still needed to go to church, she told me, "But I don't want to go without Daddy." You can tell with the way both of the kids have been acting that the absence of Daddy is affecting them. We really hope he comes home soon.
I am handling everything pretty well most of the time. I get kind of lonesome and sad at times, but I try to remember that it won't be very long before he comes back. I know that it's really not all that horrible because he is still in the country and isn't going to to be gone for months. I know that military wives and other women whose husbands work long distances away deal with the separation. And I'm pretty sure most of them handle it way better than I do. I honestly don't know how they do it, but I am grateful for all my friends who have been so supportive and helpful while Daddy's been gone.
In case you're wondering, he is currently staying in Indiana, Pennsylvania. It is outside Pittsburgh. That's where the hotel is. I'm not sure where his new location is. When he gets back, I'll post the pictures that he took while he was there.

Friends' Birthday

In June, we were invited to a birthday party for twin girls who are Tink's friends from church. They have a big family and most of them live around here, so they had a big party and BBQ at the park. The kids (big and small ;) had a great time! They played a fabulous version of Duck, Duck, Goose! The person who was it carried around a pail of water. When they said Duck, they would sprinkle a little water on the person, but when they said Goose, they would dump the entire bucket of water on the person. It was hilarious to watch! The girl getting the water dumped on her head has the same name as one of my daughters. I just love the expression on her face. Priceless! Pictures of the Belly....FINALLY!!!

Okay, so now that we are 38 1/2 weeks along (as of the date of the pictures), we finally got some pictures of the baby bump....well, it's more of a baby mountain, I think, but at any rate, here they are. Enjoy! See what I mean--it's huge! ;) It's like a little seat for Mya. Here are some new pictures of the cute little booger. She just keeps growing and learning new words. She speaks in sentences and climbs on everything. She loves to brush her teeth and wash her hands. And, inevitably, she has learned the word NO. Sometimes it drives me nuts because she says it no matter what you ask her and no matter if she really does want something or not. I know that all kids are like that, but I kept hoping she wouldn't learn it. Oh well! C'est la vie! :) She learned this from her daddy! :) A cute picture of daddy and daughter at a Primary activity.
