Soccer

This past fall, the girls decided to play soccer. They both really enjoyed going to practice and games and had a lot of fun. The league they played in doesn't keep score for their age groups, but neither of their teams did very well scoring-wise. They may not have kept score, but we certainly did. They learned a lot, I think, and had fun, so that's what matters right now to me.

This is what Daffodil did at most of her games. She didn't want to play most of the time, but she did participate in practice every week.

So, she finally got on the field and stood in the same spot the whole time. It was pretty funny at one point because a little girl on the other team kicked the ball right into Daffy's feet. Since Daffy didn't move, the little girl stood there for a minute just kicking the ball into Daffodil's legs. It was definitely amusing. :-)

This little blonde boy is a good friend of the kids, and this was his first year playing soccer, too.

Here is Tink's team and their first game. The team they played had a bunch of kids who were talented soccer players and had been playing for a couple years. Our team barely scored any goals, and they just kept scoring goal after goal. But, the kids didn't seem to care, they just kept trying and playing.

I love this shot. Tink is being aggressive and just going for it. She didn't mind getting in the middle of it.

Being goalie--this was her favorite position because she could touch the ball with her hands. LOL
