As Seen on Man v. Food
We really enjoy watching a show on the Travel Channel called Man v. Food. If you've ever seen and know Daddy, then you understand why. Since Adam, the host of the show, has visited Austin and San Antonio, we decided we needed to visit the places he visited on his show. And, of course, we had to take pictures. :) Enjoy!
3+ LB Cinnamon Roll--It wasn't as tasty as it looks, but it was fun to have! :)
Obviously, we don't know anyone in this picture, but we HAD to have a picture of the 47 INCH pizza at Lou's. Our pizza was only 20 inches, and we only ate 4 slices of it. The wait for this place is usually close to 2 hours because almost everyone comes with a huge group so they can get the enormous pizza. We only waited for about 15 minutes because it was just the 5 of us.
The Salt Lick--This was by far my favorite place to visit. It is tucked back in the middle of nowhere in Hill Country. The drive getting to it was amazing and absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is peaceful and comfortable. You can tell it's a great place to eat when the employee parking lot is as big as some restaurant parking lots, and the customer parking lot seems nearly as large as a Walmart parking lot.
I thought this was a cute pic of Daddy and Lil Chicky. This was kind of a screened in porch area where we sat. The picture below is the view from our table.
The pie shelves. Yum! We ordered some blackberry cobbler, and it was very tasty!
The BBQ pit. This is just off to the right when you walk in the front door. It smells so good!!!!
Looking at these pictures makes my mouth water. My favorite of all the meats is the brisket. It is so tender, and their BBQ sauce is delicious! The ribs literally slide off the bone. Yummmy!!!!
We still have a couple places near/in Austin that we want to visit, but I'm sure that won't be a problem since Daddy is still going to be working in San Antonio for awhile longer.
