New Calling

So, two weeks ago I was called into the Bishop's office during Sunday School. I pretty much figured that I was going to be released from my calling as a Relief Society teacher, but I didn't know what or if I would be called to a new position. I was released from teaching, and I was called to a new calling. We don't really know what my new calling is supposed to be called since the name keeps changing, but I'm essentially the Homemaking leader. I am in charge of coming up with classes and special interest groups for the ladies in the ward. I'm pretty excited about it because this is one of my favorite things about Relief Society. I really enjoy getting together with other sisters in a relaxed setting and being able to share interests, learn from and teach one another. One of my really good friends was the Homemaking leader, and I had been helping her out quite a bit. So, I feel pretty comfortable with things. I also have some ideas for things I would like to offer for the sisters. Anyway, I'm really excited about it and pray that I will be able to fulfill this calling to the best of my ability.

Friends' Birthday

In June, we were invited to a birthday party for twin girls who are Tink's friends from church. They have a big family and most of them live around here, so they had a big party and BBQ at the park. The kids (big and small ;) had a great time! They played a fabulous version of Duck, Duck, Goose! The person who was it carried around a pail of water. When they said Duck, they would sprinkle a little water on the person, but when they said Goose, they would dump the entire bucket of water on the person. It was hilarious to watch! The girl getting the water dumped on her head has the same name as one of my daughters. I just love the expression on her face. Priceless! Pictures of the Belly....FINALLY!!!

Okay, so now that we are 38 1/2 weeks along (as of the date of the pictures), we finally got some pictures of the baby bump....well, it's more of a baby mountain, I think, but at any rate, here they are. Enjoy! See what I mean--it's huge! ;) It's like a little seat for Mya. Here are some new pictures of the cute little booger. She just keeps growing and learning new words. She speaks in sentences and climbs on everything. She loves to brush her teeth and wash her hands. And, inevitably, she has learned the word NO. Sometimes it drives me nuts because she says it no matter what you ask her and no matter if she really does want something or not. I know that all kids are like that, but I kept hoping she wouldn't learn it. Oh well! C'est la vie! :) She learned this from her daddy! :) A cute picture of daddy and daughter at a Primary activity.
