Tonsilitis, Vandalism & Dancing in the Rain
Monday morning Teeny woke up with a fever of 101.3. I gave her Tylenol a few times during the day, but her fever didn't go away. It actually started getting worse. By about 5pm, she hadn't eaten hardly anything and had taken 3 or 4 naps--usually she only takes one. Her temp was up to 104.3, so we decided to take her in to urgent care. After doing a strep test and checking for a UTI, they decided that she had a mild case of tonsillitis and an infection in her throat. Since both were viral infections there was nothing they could give us for her. We just had to give her Tylenol and Motrin to keep the fever down. She seemed to be doing pretty good on Tuesday, and by Wednesday she was completely back to normal. I think Monster may have had it a little bit too, but it wasn't as bad as Teeny had it.
As we were just sitting around getting ready for the day on Tuesday morning, we had a knock at our door. The manager from our complex had come to tell us that both our car and Daddy's work van had vulgar things written on them. The police were outside taking pictures and doing a report. Evidently, 3 or 4 other cars had also gotten hit. Thankfully, it was only marker, so we were able to get it off pretty easily--well, compared to the pain it would have been if it had been spray paint or something like that. We have no idea who did it, but one of the things that was on Daddy's van is also spray painted on a stop sign and a speed limit sign just outside the back of our complex. My guess is that it was just some teenagers who were bored, but it is so disrespectful and immature.
That afternoon the kids and I drove up to the airport to see my brother, sister-in-law and their kids. They had a short layover at DFW, and since we hadn't seen them for a year and half, we decided to make the trip. It was fun to see them and be able to visit for a little bit, and I think Teeny enjoyed playing with E and E. She is 4 1/2 months younger than one, and 8 1/2 months older than the other. The funny part about that is that the older E is about a head taller than Teeny, and the younger E is the exact same size.
Friday night we had a pretty good storm come through. (See previous post.) We watched it come in, and Teeny loved seeing the lightning and hearing the thunder. When the major part of the storm hit us, Daddy took the video camera outside to tape it. Teeny decided that she wanted to play in the puddles, so I took her out in the rain. We got really wet splashing and jumping in the water, but it was a lot of fun. I haven't played in the rain like that since college. It also hailed a tiny bit, so Teeny kept finding hail and showing them to Daddy.
Monster is starting to walk pretty well. He likes to walk as far as he can before he falls over, which he usually does when he gets really excited or distracted. He can even turn in a different direction without falling. He still will just start crawling once he has fallen, but he seems to actually look for opportunities to stand up and walk. He also has 8 teeth now, and I think he is getting a few molars in, too.
So, I guess we've had a pretty eventful week. It went by really fast, and I feel like I haven't gotten hardly anything done.
I thought this was absolutely hilarious. Now, before you think I'm a horrible Mom for laughing and taking a picture of my child screaming, I have to tell you that he got himself in there. That is actually our puzzle drawer that we pulled out so we could play with the puzzles. Noah decided to push it around and play with it, and at some point climbed in it. He started crying, and when I went to see what was wrong, this is what I found. Such a silly little boy! :)
I found this hat at Walmart on clearance for $3 and thought it was really cute.

Since you aren't supposed to record in church I ask 4-5 other people to help me write down the blessing. I let them know I'm asking multiple people which usually calms the person I've asked and makes them more willing to help. (Supply them with paper and pens). Some people just write the main words down and doesn't really add to what I've been able to record myself. Usually you find one person whose done an amazing job that is just a really quick writer. Then because there are still holes I sit Rich infront of the computer and ask him to decide what he said. Then I consider it finished.
Its best to ask people who don't have little children to attend to.
