Lost Keys
Life has been pretty quiet since our guests have gone home. We took Monster to his 9 month check up this past week. He is 20.2 pounds and 29 inches, so that means when he turns one, we can turn his carseat around. Yay! He does pretty well in his carseat, but I think he will do even better when it is forward facing. My children like to be able to see their momma when they're in the car. :)
Oh! I do have an amusing story from this week. On Tuesday I took the kids to the park for our church playgroup. We ended up being almost a half hour late because I couldn't find the keys. (They were in the cushions of the couch.) We ended up staying for about an hour and a half before we decided to leave. We walked back to the car where I realized that I didn't have the keys in the diaper bag, which is where I usually put them. I searched it 4 or 5 times and then decided to walk back to the park to search for them because I was certain I took them out of the car. A few ladies were still there and helped me comb the park for the keys. After searching thoroughly, I decided to empty out the diaper bag to make sure they absolutely weren't in there. As I was emptying it out, I discovered that a jar of baby food had broken and gotten all over everything. I tried to clean it out and salvage the bag, but I ended up cutting my finger on the glass. I just decided to throw it away.
After I got everything picked up, I called the police station to see if an officer could come break into my car to get my keys. (Where else could they be?) They couldn't send anyone because they didn't have the proper tools unless a child is locked in the vehicle. The one lady who decided to stay with me, walked across the street to a garage and found someone to come over to the park. I'm not sure how he did it--whether he had the "proper" tools or not--but he got the car opened, and my friend found my keys in the back seat of the van. So that was our fun missing keys adventure. :)
