Thompson Family Reunion/Papa & Nana's 40th Anniversary

In July, all my siblings and their families gathered together at my parents' home to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. It was the first time in more than 10 years that all of us kids had been together. It was so wonderful to be able to see everyone and catch up on each other's lives. I realized that I have no idea how we all managed to live in such a small home. Most days there at the reunion we had almost 30 people in that house, and with no A/C, it got pretty toasty. I'm probably going to have to break this post up into at least two, probably three posts because of all the pictures. We took tons of them. Quite a few didn't turn out, but we did get some good ones. Most of my pictures are of the little kids playing, but that's because all my kids are little. I don't have a lot of pictures of everyone I realized, and I didn't purposely exclude anyone from the pictures. For the fam, I will make a CD for everyone of the pictures that I took and the ones that Steph took at the party. Sorry it has taken so long for me to get to this. I had such a wonderful time with everyone, and I am so glad that we were able to all get together! We missed you, Elizabeth! I can't wait until the next time we can all get together again!!!

Almost everyday the kiddos got to go outside in Nana and Papa's backyard and play in the water and the sand box. They loved it! It was never too hot, like it is here in Texas.

The kiddos sure love their Uncle Jer

The first or second day we were at Nana and Papa's, some people down the street were having a yard sale and were selling a swing set. Since Papa and Nana didn't have one, they sent the boys down to go pick it up and bring it home. It wouldn't fit in the truck, so they had to carry it about 3 blocks. It was very entertaining to watch 3 grown men and a teenager carry a swing set down the middle of the street.

They brought it up through the alley and into the backyard.

Uncle Jer being his usual silly self--One of the reasons we love him!

While we were there, we helped Nana and Papa with some of the remodeling that they have been working on with the house. Everyone who helped did a fantastic job. The house looks really nice. Now if Papa can just get the bathroom downstairs finished, the house remodeling will almost be complete after about 10 years of work. ;-)
