4th of July & Skinja's Birthday
Yep, I'm way behind, again! Maybe I can finally catch up and stay up-to-date for awhile. I don't know how detailed these next few posts will be but hopefully, you will at least enjoy the pictures.
We just had a little birthday celebration for Skinja on his birthday. One of his friends and his parents came over to celebrate with us. Summer birthdays are difficult to put together for me, Skinja's especially since it is right before a big holiday. We really like to have fun on the Fourth and do fireworks. We invited two families to join us for fireworks, and everyone had a great time, especially the dads! It was fun to watch them getting so excited about the fireworks they picked out.
We have been contemplating the way we celebrate birthdays lately. We have decided that instead of throwing big parties every year for each of them (That gets really expensive and time consuming since we have 4 children!), we are going to have a small family celebration. I will make them their favorite food for dinner, have cupcakes or some sort of yummy dessert that they like, and then they can choose to go somewhere together as a family. We will have big celebrations for their 8th birthdays when they get baptized and their 12th birthday when they advance to the youth program at church. We think those two milestones deserve to be celebrated in a great way.
