Vacation, Part 2

The second week of our vacation was much more fun for everyone because Granny only had to work Monday and Tuesday and was able to spend the rest of the time with all of us. Yay! :) We did more of the same things, but on Friday we were able to go to the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo. Because we got there in the afternoon and it was so dang hot, we didn't go on the little tour/trolley thingy. They were going to take us on it, but they said that most of the animals would be hiding in the shade. I don't blame them! It was 105 degrees that day! But it was fun to walk around and feed the goats and giraffes and see all the other animals.
Because Granny and Grumpa live out in the country, there were lots of bugs. I managed to escape with only 3 ant bites and 5 or 6 mosquito bites. Teeny and Monster weren't quite so lucky. Monster had about 8 or so bug bites, and on our last day there after I bathed him, I found an itty bitty little tick on his leg. That was kinda gross! Teeny had probably 10 to 15 bugs bites and they swelled up pretty big. And, then, just like her mommy did when she was little, she scratches them until they bleed and scab over, which, of course, makes them look even worse. But the bug bites didn't slow either one of them down. Oh to be a kid again! I wish they didn't bother me so much. I'm kind of turning into more of a wimp the older I get.
Anyway, here are some more pictures!

Golden Orb Spider the kids found out by the chicken coupe--We didn't know what kind of spider it was, but when I showed the pictures to Daddy, he said that's what it is.

Some of Granny's new chickens

Cute pic of Lil Chicky

Monster on the hayride--This is the only picture from the actual hayride that turned out.

Lil Chicky fell asleep on the hayride to the lake, so I just laid her down on the blanket and let her sleep for a little bit.

The lake was really fun and the kids had a blast. It seemed a little weird to me because the water was so warm. I was all excited to cool off in some cool water, but it was more like warm bath water. It still cooled us off because of how hot it was outside, but it's just not the same.

Monster loved swimming in the lake! He seemed to enjoy it more than the pool.

Teeny really wanted to go out in the deep with the older kids, but she hasn't quite figured out how to keep herself afloat. So, she would walk out as far as she could.

Granny holding Monster and Teeny in the lake--The kids are standing on her knees, I think.

Mya looking at the iguana in the reptile house

My little cowboy--Because we were the only people at the park, the man running the pony ride let Monster ride for about 15 minutes straight while all the other kids took turns. Monster LOVED it!

Teeny on the pony ride--She kept saying "I'm a cowgirl!" and "Yee-haw!"

My children all turn bright red and look sunburned when they get hot. I promise they weren't burned! :)

We did some fireworks while we were there, too. The kids did sparklers and these confetti bombs. I was quite pleased with this picture since it was starting to get pretty dark out.
