Blow Out
While we were driving to Longview for the weekend of the fourth, the used tire that we had bought to replace the tire that got a huge hole in it from running over a box, blew out. The entire tread came off the tire. Luckily, we were only about 10 minutes outside of Longview, so Uncle T, Daddy's brother, came out to help change the tire. He is in the tire business and said that the tire we had was over 10 years old. And, I guess in the tire business that is a pretty big faux pas to sell a tire that old. He also said that is why it blew out on us.
The blow out severed the A/C line, so we had no air in the van. It also ruined the rear bumper. Because the company who sold us the tire said they had no liability and wouldn't pay for it, we ended up having to file a claim with our insurance to get it fixed. We still have to pay our deductible, which is a pretty penny, but at least our insurance is going to cover the rest of it. Hopefully, we'll get the van back very soon! I don't like having to cram 3 car seats in the back of our little car. They fit, but just barely.
