Life
I got a calling at church today. I am going to be a teacher in Relief Society. Crazy, I know! (For those of you who don't know, that is the women's class.) Since we've been married, I've only been in Primary (teaching kids). I kind of have mixed emotions about the calling. I know that Heavenly Father will support me in this calling, but I've only ever taught children, not women my own age and older. Most of the women in my ward are older. I have always gotten along well with women older than me, but I have been in Primary and with children so much that I just feel comfortable there. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to be with the sisters for awhile.
Mya is an amazing child! I am so blessed to have her as my daughter. I cannot get over how smart and sweet she is. She absolutely loves to read and pretends she is reading everything that you can open like a book, whether or not it really is a book. She is also very imaginative. She can look at something and see something totally different. She can count to 15 but usually skips 14, and she calls fifteen fiveteen. It's super cute! She knows her colors and shapes and loves to play with her letter magnets. She tries to sing the ABC song but ends up missing half the letters. She enjoys singing songs and playing with her blocks. And she absolutely adores her little brother--sometimes a little too much. ;)
Noah is growing so incredibly fast!!! I can't believe how much faster time seems to go by now than when Mya was his age. He is 5 1/2 months old almost! He rolls over quite proficiently and moves around like crazy. I am going to need to baby proof the house very soon. Yikes! He can get at something he wants that is within about a foot of wherever he's at on the floor. He babbles all the time and has the biggest smile. It shows on his whole face. He eats baby food like a champ, but no worries, he doesn't eat more than he needs. He is incredibly happy most of the time. Oh! And I think he is starting to get on a fairly consistent sleeping schedule, which I love! He still wakes up once or twice a night, but hopefully that will start to subside once his schedule gets more regular.
Work for Toby is going pretty well. Nothing new really to speak of, except that he is working at sites much closer to home now. That means an extra few hours a day we get to spend with him. Yay!
We have decided that we will probably stay around this area at least until we get out of debt and have a down payment for a house. We will decide where we want to go and what we want to do when that time comes. Ultimately, we would like to move, at the latest, 6 months before Mya starts school. We think that way she will have time to meet some kids her age before she starts school. So that's kind of the plan for now. We'll find out if that is what the Lord has in mind for us as well or not.
