Little Things
On Wednesday morning our power went out while the kids and I were eating breakfast. After a couple minutes, Tink said that she wanted to say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help turn the power back on. So, she said a little prayer doing just that. About a minute or two after she finished, the power came back, and Skinja said, "You did it!"
The thing that is special about this story is that we didn't really need the power back on right away, but Tinks's prayer was still answered almost immediately. Oh, the faith of little children is great!
Tonight when I was putting Skinja to bed, he decided to let me pick the bedtime songs. (Usually, I let him pick two, and I'll pick one.) The first song I chose was "I Love to See the Temple." After I sang the first two lines (I love to see the temple/I'm going there someday), he interrupted me and said, "Mommy, why don't you go to the temple?" I had to be honest and told him I just hadn't made the time to go. We then had a little discussion about mommy and daddy going to the temple more often. I think I will probably try to take the kids up to the temple grounds more often as well since they enjoy going there.
It's the little things in life that seem to mean the most, and I am constantly reminded of that by the little ones in my life.
