Putting Up the Christmas Tree

The first Monday in December for family night we put up our Christmas tree. As is becoming tradition, Daddy assembled the tree; Mommy spread out the branches; and the kiddos decorated. They had a great time deciding where all the ornaments were going to go. I think they did a pretty great job with it. All I had to do was hang the decorations on the top of the tree where the kids couldn't reach with direction from Tink, of course. We have some friends staying with us for a little while, so they got in on the fun as well.










Daddy was playing with Tink and wouldn't let her put the star on the top of the tree. He would lean her into it, and as soon as she went to put the star on, he would pull her away. It was pretty amusing.



Finally got it on!



Tink was pouting because she couldn't do something she wanted when we took this picture of the finished tree.

Friends' Birthday

In June, we were invited to a birthday party for twin girls who are Tink's friends from church. They have a big family and most of them live around here, so they had a big party and BBQ at the park. The kids (big and small ;) had a great time! They played a fabulous version of Duck, Duck, Goose! The person who was it carried around a pail of water. When they said Duck, they would sprinkle a little water on the person, but when they said Goose, they would dump the entire bucket of water on the person. It was hilarious to watch! The girl getting the water dumped on her head has the same name as one of my daughters. I just love the expression on her face. Priceless! Pictures of the Belly....FINALLY!!!

Okay, so now that we are 38 1/2 weeks along (as of the date of the pictures), we finally got some pictures of the baby bump....well, it's more of a baby mountain, I think, but at any rate, here they are. Enjoy! See what I mean--it's huge! ;) It's like a little seat for Mya. Here are some new pictures of the cute little booger. She just keeps growing and learning new words. She speaks in sentences and climbs on everything. She loves to brush her teeth and wash her hands. And, inevitably, she has learned the word NO. Sometimes it drives me nuts because she says it no matter what you ask her and no matter if she really does want something or not. I know that all kids are like that, but I kept hoping she wouldn't learn it. Oh well! C'est la vie! :) She learned this from her daddy! :) A cute picture of daddy and daughter at a Primary activity.
