Theme: Cowboys/Pioneers

The first full week in November, our theme for school was cowboys and pioneers. The kids had a blast with it. Even to this day, whenever we see a covered wagon, Skinja says, "We learned about those!" It makes me feel good to know that things are sticking with them. I love it, and I love teaching my children!

Skinja and Tink wearing the paper bag cowboy vests they made.

Our paper doll cowboy--This is how we learned about the different things a cowboy wears and why because cowboys didn't wear anything just to look nice; everything had a purpose.

For our outing, we went to the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth. It was a perfect fit for what we were learning. I also think it helped Tink see what it was like in Laura Ingall's time. We've been reading The Little House books.

I liked the scarecrow. :)

Skinja pumping water. Yes, it really did pump water, but you couldn't drink it.

Teetee playing in the chicken coup.

Skinja and JAG digging in the dirt in the trough.

Daddy showing Tink and Skinja how to grind the corn into cornmeal.

Tink and Teetee relaxing in some comfy rocking chairs.

Just a cute pic of the sisters
