Family Reunion--Out at the Lake
A few days into our reunion, we decided to head out to the lake. Most of the adults that went to the lake went so they could go fishing. We went so the kids could go play in the water and sand. We had a blast and got really sunburnt. I guess that's what happens when you're out all day long, playing in the water and forget to put sunsreen on more than one time. Oops! The next couple days we didn't get to go outside very much because we wanted to keep the kids out of the sun as much as possible.
Funny story: When we got to the lake, we discovered that our van had a flat tire. We didn't worry about it because we figured we would just put the spare on it before we left and then would get it fixed or replaced the next day. When we decided that we were ready to head back to the house, we jacked up the van and took off the flat tire. Then we realized we didn't have our spare with us.
That's when I realized that we had left it in the garage in Texas. I had gotten a flat on the way home from picking up the kids in Alabama. Uncle R works for Discount Tire and had gotten a replacement tire for us and brought it to the house, so we wouldn't have to drive up to Fort Worth on the spare. When Daddy had replaced the spare with the new tire, he just put the spare in the garage instead of putting it back under the van.
So, Papa let Daddy borrow his car to drive to the nearest town to get the tire fixed. The closest town was about 30 minutes away. There was only one tire shop in the town and it was VERY busy. They had to convince the owner that it was absolutely necessary to get in. He took the tire and told them that it was unrepairable. They were able to buy a new tire, and when they took it out to put it in the car, they discovered that one of the tires on Papa's car had gone flat.
They had to go back into the shop and ask to be seen again. Papa's tire was repairable and they were able to get it fixed and finally head back to the lake. In all, I think it took Daddy about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to go, get a new tire, get another tire repaired and come back. By the time he got back, everyone else had left except my younger sister (Her husband had gone with Daddy.) and Papa. We were going to be the first ones to leave. ;) Quite the adventure!

Cousin Bug, Skinja, Tink playin' in the water
I love this look on Teetee's face. I think this was the first time she got that deep in the water.
These two are about 8 months apart. Tink is older.

Teetee sittin' on a rock
She LOVED being in the water at the lake, but she isn't a big fan of being in the pool. Weird! ;)

Daddy had fun swinging the kids around in the water and making big splashes. They all thought it was great fun. :)
