Teeny Monster Strawberry (aka The Kiddos)

So, before I tell you what has been going on with The Kiddos, I have to tell you how we came up with Strawberry. You all know who Teeny and Monster, but Strawberry is the name I'll be using instead of BG. For Mother's Day, Daddy bought me an iPad. We always give our computers names, and we were having a hard time coming up with a name for the iPad. I figured since our laptop and desktop are each named after two of the kiddos, that we should name it after the other child. But, we didn't have a nickname for her. The laptop is called Blueberry Muffin (Blueberry because of it's color, and Muffin is another nickname we have for Teeny.), and the desktop is named MonsterMan. So, Daddy came up with Strawberry, and from this point forward BG will be known as Strawberry--at least until we come up with a better nickname for her. :)

So two weeks ago Teeny started going to gymnastics, and she loves it! She is so excited to be learning to headstands and flips and balance beam and hanging on the bar. I will try to get a picture of her in her leotard this week before she goes to class. We aren't allowed to take pictures while they are in class right now, but maybe at some point we'll be able to.

Last Thursday (April 29) while we were at the park for playgroup, Teeny surprised with something that I had no idea she knew how to do. She needed to go potty and couldn't wait, so we had to go and use the nasty park bathroom. While Teeny was going potty, she looked at the wall and said, "Mommy, do you know what that says?" I said, "No. What?" "That says frog." And sure enough, right there on the bathroom stall was the word frog. I was so impressed and completely caught off guard. I'm sure it was a matter of knowing the word by sight from watching a show called Word World, but it means that she is beginning to learn to read.

Monster is starting to talk a lot more. He still talks in a way that I can't understand, but I'm beginning to be able to understand more of his words. Some of the words he says are mommy, fish, duck, baby, yeah, yuck, yum, milk, amen, love you, night-night, bye...Today, he even tried to say Happy Mother's Day. He loves to make animal noises when I ask him what animal is in a picture. He enjoys singing and building things. He has gotten really attached to his big sister. Monster gets very upset and throws a fit whenever she goes some place without him like going to a friend's house or going into her gymnastics class.

Strawberry is getting so big--well, sort of. :) At her 2 month check-up, she weighed 10 lbs, 2 oz and was 22 1/2 in long. She is finally starting to fit into her 3 month clothes. She has an adorable sweet smile. She is also in a musical at a theatre here in town. It's called The Plaza, and they are performing Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. There is a part where they needed a baby, and since we go to church with the family who runs it, they asked if we wouldn't mind having Strawberry be in it. It is rather time consuming because they perform every Thursday, Friday and twice on Saturday, but the show ends at the end of the month. Daddy was able to see the show on Saturday, and he thought it was fantastic. Strawberry does a great job on stage; she loves the lights and music. Everyone says shes a star and steals the show. I think it's fun, and it will be something neat for her to see/read about when she's older.

I have the most wonderful kiddos in the world!
