Great Deal & Sewing Project
The kids and I went to Walmart today to pick up a double coupon paper and some children's medicine. While wandering around, I found some really great deals on clothes for Teeny. I decided I wanted to share it with since it was so good. I bought her two dresses with shirts, two skirts with leggings and one pair of pants. The original total price for them was $47, but I only paid $10! Each item was clearanced to $2 each. I bought 3 items in the 4T size and 2 items in 3T. Teeny can wear the 3T now, but it's just a little bit big. (That's actually how she prefers her clothes to fit.) Here's a picture of the clothes.
So, in November, I think, during playgroup we decided to start working on a sewing project. As you can imagine with the holidays, things got crazy, and we didn't get to finish. If I had any sewing background besides quilts, I may have been able to finish it on my own. However, since I wasn't sure what I was doing and had never worked with knit fabric before, I didn't even attempt to work on it on my own. Plus, my machine doesn't have the correct stretch stitch that I needed. Last Tuesday, I went to my friend's house (the one who is teaching me and helping me) and was able to finish the majority of the shirt. Here is the picture of how it looks so far. We are going to add an inside collar and some fabric to the bottom of the shirt to add some length. I will post a picture of the final product when we get it finished. And, yes, it is for Teeny. (This post has made me realize that I need to work on making/finding stuff for Monster. He has about 1/2 as many clothes as Teeny!)
